#4 – The trip to Gulu

From Lynne:

Leaving Monday morning I thought an hour to Chicago, 8 hours to London and 9 hours to Entebbe was no big deal.  Somehow with all the layovers and time zones, it was Tuesday midnight before I got to Entebbe and Wednesday evening before we arrived here in Gulu.  I was to meet my brother-in-law, Jim, at Heathrow for the last leg. He barely made it, but his luggage didn’t!  JoAnn and Marion, and their driver, George, picked us up in Entebbe and took us to a retreat house in Kampala for the night.

CSJ Retreat houseWe went shopping for groceries and ate our last restaurant meal, and finally we were on the road to Gulu, crossing the Nile shortly before arriving.

“Lord bless the journey which they undertake, that it may profit the health of their soul and body, that they may reach its end, and that, returning safe and sound, may they find their families in good health. Please guard, guide and preserve them. Amen”
